Great local restaurant
The Cafe is a great local non-chain restaurant, and our favorite in Ames. The food is always fresh and fantastic, the menu changes periodically/seasonally, the kids menu is real food too (not mac and cheese from a box like other places - it's the best!), and desserts to die for! I've been there for casual lunch, an evening out, book group meetings, and with the kids. All that and reasonably priced, too! Highly recommended.
